Ishana - The Godling

The Forest is dying. Its only savior is YOU,  Ishana, a young Godling who will wield the power of the natural world to save the forest. Fight your way through enemies and upgrade yourself to save the forest. 

Ishana, The Godling is a 3rd-person open-world shooter game where a young god awakens her divine powers to cleanse the Decay corrupting the Forest Realm she is destined to protect. Wield celestial energy in intense battles, unlock godly abilities, and restore balance to the land—or let The Corruption consume everything.

Exploration- Slightly open ended with branching paths and larger areas, but the player will still be guided towards the next objective by both the design of the world (and by a little helper, that will help the player if they are lost.) SOON TO COME

Combat- Third person shooter where the player uses magic abilities to fight enemies. For a majority of the game the player will have two abilities. A basic attack and a freeze ability. Some enemies get extra damage by the freeze ability. In the late game players will unlock a teleport ability, that can be used in combat and exploration 

Gameplay

The main objective of Ishana is to defeat the boss at the end and clear the forest of corruption. You will have to use your abilities you unlock to unlock more areas to further progression. The game will incorporate minor metroidvania elements. The game ends after the player has defeated the boss at the end. The character will also level up and become stronger as she defeats more enemies through experience points. This will encourage the player to further explore the environment and will make every combat encounter feel useful. 

Mechanics

The player will use their ability to fight enemies. Their attacks are tied to their mana stat which can be replenished with special trees that also heal you. The player will be managing their health and mana during encounters. They will have three abilities by the end of the game. The first is a basic attack. It will act as a bullet that harms enemies. The second is a freeze ability that freezes the enemy for at least 3 seconds. Players will learn what attacks work best against what enemies as the game progresses. The player can also charge up their attack to inflict more damage.
